Women in Faith Fall Offerings
Women in Faith (WIF) meets Friday mornings at 9:45. In addition to the Friday morning studies, one study will be offered on Monday evenings at 7:00. An additional study will be held via Zoom on Thursday evenings. Below are the study options for this Fall. The Fall session of Friday morning Women in Faith begins with a Meet and Greet on August 16. Women in Faith Fall 2024
Dearest Sisters in Christ,
We are so excited to be together once again as we start off this new year with a Meet and Greet on August 16th at 9:45am in the Social Hall. The following week, on August 23rd at 9:45 am we will meet in the Social Hall for a morning of Reflection with Carol Busche. On August 30th will and split into our small groups to begin our studies following the business meeting.
Below are the 10 study options for this Fall. All these studies will finish before Christmas, and you can choose a new study in the Spring. Please keep in mind that large groups signed up for one study may be split into two groups.
We will again offer a Thursday evening Zoom class from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm facilitated by Suzie Amsberry and Monday evening at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm facilitated by Barbara Gorman for those who can’t come on Friday mornings or want to join an additional study. The book selected for Thursday evening and Monday evening is Mary, Teach Me to Be Your Daughter by Megan Madden .
Facilitators are needed to help lead our small groups. We will offer a training meeting and guidelines to assist you in this role on Friday, August 9th ay 10:00 am in the Adult Ed/OCI. At the end of the sign-up, you will be asked if you are willing to help. If you have never served in this capacity before, we encourage you to consider it. We will notify you if your assistance as a facilitator is needed for the study you have chosen.

Wild Goose” was a term that the ancient Celts had for the Holy Spirit. It is a 14-part series featuring Fr. Dave Pivonka and various interviews. Shot in various locations from Niagara Falls to the California desert, The Wild Goose invites viewers to an encounter, or a renewed encounter, with the Holy Spirit.

One of the most striking characteristics of Jesus’ ministry is the way he continually asks questions of those he encounters. (This option requires no book purchase, pre-reading or homework.) 4. Rooted and Radiant – A Study of Colossians – Bible Study
Rooted and Radiant was written for any woman who wants to live her life grounded in Jesus Christ. In this Bible study, we learn the book of Colossians verse by verse as we seek to understand the challenges that faced the Colossians, recognizing that they are remarkably similar to our own challenges today.
5. Mary, Teach Me to Be Your Daughter by Megan Madden – Book Study
Journey into the heart of Mary and reflect on the virtues that all Catholic women are called to imitate. Mary, Teach Me to Be Your Daughter: Finding Yourself in the Blessed Mother leads Catholic women on an intimate journey into the life of Mary, the Immaculate Mother of God, and reflects on the ten principal virtues that she possessed.
6. The Screwtape Letters by C S Lewis – Book Study
The Screwtape Letters is a Christian apologetic novel by C. S. Lewis and dedicated to J. R. R. Tolkien. It is written in a satirical, epistolary style and, while it is fictional in format, the plot and characters are used to address Christian theological issues, primarily those to do with temptation and resistance to it.
7. Essays On Woman (The Collected Works of Edith Stein) – Book Study
With reason Edith Stein (Teresa Benedicta of the Cross) has been called the most significant German-Jewish woman of the twentieth century. Her writings on woman are the fruit of both reflection and debate with other leaders of the Catholic feminist movement in German-speaking countries between the World Wars.
